101 Kaptivating KOOL activities to SAVE MONEY indoors

My daughters are always saying they have absolutely nothing to do when they get home from school, when i was their age my imagination ran so wild. I really didn't need much of anything to keep me occupied. I would use my imagination and pretend I'm far away in some enchanted castle and i would find things around the house to make my imagination my own reality.

Because we live in a world surrounded by TECHNOLOGY that using the your imagination becomes obsolete. Television and Internet has our children submissive to doing anything that doesn't require a controller or joystick!!!! well here are a some great ways that you can interact with your children.

1. Have an indoor picnic.
2. Build a fort out of blankets (use chairs, couches, yarn- anything to hold up the blankets!).
3. Make sock puppets (check out our tutorials for monster puppets and sock puppets!).
4. Finger paint with pudding.
5. Playdough- use rolling pins and cookie cutters.
6. Dance PARTY–dance to your favorite songs.
7. Have a tea party.
8. Read nursery rhymes.
9. Make your own indoor hopscotch with masking tape on carpet/wood.
10. Pedicures.

Boston Marathon runners head towards the finish line as an explosion erupts along the final stretch of the route.
More than 17,000 runners had already crossed the finish line at the Boston Marathon, in Massachusetts, when the first bomb exploded at 2:50. Seconds later, another explosion rocked the crowd of spectators and runners. At least 176 people were injured, and three were killed. After the attack, President Barack Obama spoke at the White House. “We will find out who did this. We’ll find out why they did this,” he said. “Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice.”
The bombing shattered a day of celebration. The marathon is held on Patriot’s Day, a Massachusetts state holiday that marks the start of the Revolutionary War and the battles of Lexington and Concord, in 1775. The 26.2-mile race is the oldest continually run marathon in the world. This year, it drew more than 26,000 runners from more than 60 countries.

A Heroic Response
Within minutes of the explosion, onlookers, volunteers and emergency workers rushed to help those injured. Officials said their quick actions saved many lives. The President echoed those statements at a briefing on Tuesday. He said first responders and volunteers showed no fear and acted “ heroically.”
After the attack, ambulances, fire trucks and dozens of marked and unmarked police cars filled Boston’s streets. In Boston Common, the city’s main public park, squadrons of military personnel lined up, as helicopters swarmed overhead.
The Investigation Begins
The hunt for the killer behind the bombings began soon after the attacks. Investigators sealed off the bombsite and began collecting evidence. In Washington, the FBI and CIA began looking through databases for missed clues that the attacks would occur. Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis said authorities had received “no specific intelligence that anything was going to happen” at the race.
As of Tuesday morning, no person or group had claimed responsibility for the attacks. Officials are asking the public to help with the investigation by sending photos and videos, and calling in clues. The chief FBI agent in Boston promised that authorities “will go to the ends of the Earth” to find whoever carried out the attack. At his Tuesday White House briefing, President Obama called it a “heinous, cowardly” act of terrorism. Now investigators must determine whether the bombing was planned and carried out by a domestic or an international terrorist group or an individual.
Moving Forward Together
Authorities have moved quickly to let Americans know they are safe. The governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, stressed that only two explosive devices were found on Monday. And the FBI reassured area residents that “there are no known additional threats.”
Obama pointed out that Americans respond to evil by acting “selflessly, compassionately, unafraid.” On Monday, he had called Boston a tough and resilient town and said Bostonians would pull together, take care of each other and move forward. “As they do,” the President said, “the American people will be with them every single step of the way.”

Cooking with Kids, Episode 1 - How to Make Gluten Free and Dairy Free Di...

You’ll be amazed at how fast your little one will grow. It will seem as if she was born just yesterday, and now she’s walking and talking and getting ready to graduate sometime soon. For some of us that is not the case however the time sure fly by so fast that it feels like it.  Having kids and trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating all a job of its own.  When raising kids we try every measure to get our kids to try to do certain activities and eat certain foods.  Sometimes we are successful, but then at other times we have to bribe our children to do things in order to get them to do what we really want them to do and that’s exercise properly, to maintain a healthy diet.

Healthier Living for babies, toddlers, young children, pre-teens, young adults and the Parents or guardians who love them

Nowadays our children of today have a tendency to get very uninterested easily when they are not involved in any type of extracurricular activities.  Being a parent of two girls and helping to raise a lot of siblings over the years I’ve realized that no matter what it is a child is going to be a child nonetheless.  We all were children and we all reminisce on the days growing up wishing that we can go back to the “Good Old Days” when we didn’t have any worries.  Like most children, kids just want to be involved in something and feel appreciated just like any of us.

Children want to get involved in everything and the way the world and technology is taking off we sometimes neglect the finer things in life such as going to the parks, taking walks, reading books, listening to stories being told by campfires, or even just throwing a ball in the open fields, children want to get involved in everything.  Anytime I’m in the kitchen cooking my children want to help assist. Anytime I start cleaning my children want to help cleaning so the way we train and teach our children good sanitary practices and great eating regimes we have to consider that we all need to start from somewhere and since we all started as children its best to let the children get involved as early as possible.
